What is our admissions procedure?
AUCP is open to applicants of any race, color, sex, religion, nationality, or ethnic origin. Admission priority if given in the following order, provided the application is made before the end of the priority application period for the applicable group. These application dates are listed in the Calendar of Events.
- Children of AUCP faculty* and current students returning to the same class**
- Current students
- Siblings of current students
- Former students and their siblings
- Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington members and friends
- New applicants***
*Faculty members only have priority in enrolling their Panda-age children in one day more than the number of days they are teaching. Requests for additonal days will be considered only after the requests of children in groups 2–4 have been met.
**Current students returning to the Panda class will be given priority for up to two Panda days. However, these students may not enroll in a third Panda class until all applicants from groups 3 and 4 have been offered up to two Panda spots.
***Students from the prior year waiting list will be given priority.
After the end of the priority period, new applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, except that siblings of enrolled students will continue to receive priority.
A lottery will be used to decide order of enrollment for applications received on the same day. There will be no admissions priorities after December 31 of the current school year. All applications received after this time will go to the bottom of the wait list, including those of siblings of enrolled students.
